Set up a modern paint Factory 2001 called Aqua Paints at Tongi, Dhaka. In 2001 the Industry was one of the most technologically advanced and sophisticated manufacturing facilities in the industry. In addition he is also MD of other units in the Elite family, Elite Garments, Elite Iron and Steel Industries, Aqua Mineral Turpentine and Solvents and Aqua Refinery.
He was born in Chittagong in 1956. His father, Serajuddin Ahmed, was founder chairman of Elite Paints and a pioneer of industry in Bangladesh. He started businesses in banking, insurance, leather, tea, garments, steel and was first in almost all of these areas. Ramzul Seraj graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham. He completed Masters in the same subject in the University of Aston, also in Birmingham. His passion is product quality and development. This is one of the reasons why people believe that Aqua Paints is one brand that outlasts all others in field tests.

After spending ten successful years in Toronto, Canada, Shayaan returned to Bangladesh towards the end of 2015. He has been visiting paint dealers across the country, and businesses, to better understand how the brand can serve their needs. He is also overseeing projects to differentiate brand, change culture and modernize systems in the organization.
Favourite Team: Manchester United Favourite Colour: British Racing Green Favorite Drink: Sparkling Water Born in Chittagong in 1987, Shayaan Seraj received his Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics in the University of Toronto. He began his professional career as a junior media analyst and gradually progressed the corporate ladder in three of the Big Five global advertising agencies – WPP, Interpublic and Publicis. Strong experiences along with a determination for fast growth resulted in him managing the digital team for the largest financial services account in Canada, TD Bank. His diligent management and innovative marketing strategies led to several awards including the prestigious Gramercy Institute “20 Rising Star” and Canadian Marketing Association’s “Best of the Best” award in 2015.
While in Toronto, Shayaan was actively involved in local politics (Director – Burano Condominiums), industry associations (NABS), university programs (Rotman Alumni) and social intiatives (Transparency International).
After gaining 10 years of overseas experience, he moved back to Dhaka in 2015 and became Director of Elite Group. His intention is to recapture the entrepreneurial spirit that led to earlier successful startups, Project Bangladesh and Imhungrybd.com

S.M. Ahsanul Karim, Executive Director, is responsible for managing the Colour Factory. In particular, he oversees production across multiple departments – paint, resin and textile chemicals. In addition to managing internal stakeholders, he has a tremendous amount of marketing experience working with prospective buyers, clients, suppliers and others.

Ahsanul Karim was born on 20 January, 1962 in Pabna. He studied at Titumir College in 1980and progressed earning a Bachelor Degree in Science in 1986 and Master’s Degree of Science in Chemistry in 1988 from Dhaka University. Upon graduation, he started his own company, importing chemical products from China, India, Singapore, Malaysia and selling in Bangladesh.
After 16 years, he founded a chemical factory, Karim Chemicals in Jatrabari. His in depth understanding of the chemicals market allowed him to establish a clientele of large business conglomerates including Partex, BRB and Bengal Group.
In 2012, the right opportunity presented itself, and he became Executive Director of Aqua Paints. Decades of experience in a technical environment along with strong skills such as management, planning and process efficiency are some of the attributes he contributes to the Aqua family.
